The Scoop:

Dying House Gallery, or DHG Piuma XXL Yarn is the super bulky sister to Piuma! It's created using a semi-artisan spinning process and, like all of DHG's yarns, it’s produced entirely in Italy. It’s slightly more twisted than the classic Piuma and is super easy to work with, both knitted and crocheted. When it’s worked, this yarn tends to puff up even more and get chunkier.

The Nitty Gritty:

Material: 100% extra fine merino wool

Weight: Super Bulky (6)

Suggested Needles: US 15-19 (10-15mm)

Knitting gauge swatch: 7.5 stitches x 11 rows in stockinette stitch for 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4 in.
Crochet gauge swatch: 6.5 stitches x 8 rows in single crochet for 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in.

Yardage/Meters 65.6 Yards/60 meters

Skein Weight: 200 grams

Care Instructions: Hand wash (no bleach) in lukewarm water, using a wool wash. Lay flat to dry (do not wring). Slight bleeding may occur and is normal.

Hot Tips:

Pure wool roving is hardly twisted if at all, therefore after the first few washes it can close up slightly (doesn’t get felted!).
